About the Foundation
We find inspiration in George Masa, who used his photography and advocacy to celebrate and protect wild spaces, leaving a lasting impact. We strive to inspire young people to follow his example, using creativity to care for and connect with the natural world.

Young people are natural story tellers.
Here’s how we plan to help:
Educational opportunities through virtual workshops and an annual conference held in Asheville, NC.
An annual media contest where young people will have an opportunity to tell their stories and inspire others.
Provide grant funding and technical support for conservation projects within their own communities.

Who was George Masa?
Carrying a heavy, large-format camera into the wilderness, waiting whole days for the perfect shot, and capturing stunning images on film made Masa a true master of his craft.
Fond of saying, “More walk, less talk,” he was about action.
